History and Geography of Fisheries and Aquaculture

Since ancient times, the seas and oceans have been "hunting areas" in which Man has caught fish and marine mammals and collected edible molluscs and seaweed on the shores. Gradually, boats, hunting and fishing implements improved, increasing the scope of food-gathering. The history and geography of such developments, at global, regional or national level provide very valuable information on the sector, its development and management.   See More...

The foundation for much of <> section of this Topic is "Man and the Ocean", a CD-ROM produced by the Russian Head Department of Navigation and Oceanography (HDNO).
