How to become a Member?

Membership is FREE and anyone can become a UN Atlas of the Oceans member.

You will get registered as a member by clicking on the “Not a member? Join now” link, on the left hand side of the home page.

This will open a registration form which you are required to fill in to join the UN Atlas of the Oceans website. Once you have completed the form, click on the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page.

After submitting the registration form, you will receive a message from the system confirming your membership.

What does a Member do?

All registered members can actively participate by submitting items to the various sections to be added such as sub-topics and related knowledge.

You can also volunteer to act as the content administrator of a particular topic or subtopic.

If your proposal is accepted you will become the Editorof that topic and the owner of that related knowledge.

When you suggest a new topic/sub-topic, it is automatically assumed that you are also volunteering to be the editor for that item, therefore please ensure that your personal information in the Registration Form includes an adequate description of the subjects/fields that you have qualifications or expertises in or that you have uploaded your curriculum vitae/homepage. This information will help the relevant topic editor and/or the Chief Editor to decide whether to accept your suggested item and you as the editor. Please refer to the “Become an Editor” section of this Help page for additional information.

How to interact with the System?
