NOAA-supported scientists find large Gulf dead zone, but smaller than predicted

NOAA supported scientists discover a large dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico, roughly the size of Connecticut. The dead zone is not as large as the record breaking dead zone that was originally anticipated to form due to heavy spring rains.
