Describes one of the first projects of the Census of Marine Life (CoML), which was dedicated to the study of the mid-Atlantic Ridge and called Mar-Eco. The book is well illustrated with black and white historical photos, maps, diagrams, portraits of the Mar-Eco project steering group and meaningful captions to the photo-composites. The papers between each Chapter feature a graphic of the cruise route of the G.O.Sars exploration of the mid-Atlantic ridge.
