Western Australian Marine Science Institution

Institution -
Western Australia is indeed the 'Marine State', having the longest coastline of any State in Australia. The surrounding Indian and Southern Oceans govern the climate and rainfall in extensive agricultural regions and Western Australia's marine waters support the nation's major fisheries, possess tropical, subtropical and temperate environments with high biodiversity and is home to major offshore gas and petroleum developments. The aim of the Western Australian Marine Science Institution (WAMSI) is to provide a better scientific understanding of the marine environment for the people of the State of Western Australia.
