ReefBase GIS
Multimedia - Map: Online Dynamic Map
30 Nov 2001
ReefBase GIS is an online Geographic Information System, which was developed to display coral reef related data and information on interactive maps in your webbrowser. You can zoom in to a particular area of interest, switch various data layers on and off, and save or bookmark the map for later viewing, printing or use in presentations/documents.
ReefBase GIS was developed in collaboration with Demis B.V, using the OpenGIS compliant Demis Mapserver. During development we paid particular attention to finding a balance between functionality (what you can do with it) and performance (how well it works over the internet, e.g. using a modem).
