Warmer waters bleach Lord Howe's unique reef

Lord Howe Island, off Australia's east coast, is home to the world's southern-most coral reef, but parts of the reef on the Island are in trouble following the largest bleaching event on record. Unlike Australia's Great Barrier Reef where corals have been known to recover, the reef at Lord Howe is genetically different and it could take decades to regenerate.
