For millennia, farmers have nurtured trees on their farm and pasture lands and around their homes. We define agroforestry as a dynamic, ecologically based, natural resources management system that, through the integration of trees on farms and in the agricultural landscape, diversifies and sustains production. Our interest derives from the (potential) social, economic and environmental benefits for all land users.
