Text-only     Printer-friendly version
Workshop Outline

The purpose of this workshop will be to (1) review recent innovations in tagging technology, (2) examine tagging protocols to determine if and how they might be improved, (3) review existing evidence regarding the adverse effects of tagging on large cetaceans, and (4) consider research strategies to address existing gaps in our understanding of potential tagging effects. To achieve these objectives, we will consider such topics as tag attachment methods, size and types of implantable tags, tag placement for various species/size classes, and the efficacy and advisability of administering antibiotics during tag application.
