The wrecking of the chemical tanker the Ievoli Sun in the Channel in 2000 highlighted the danger involved in chemical tanker accidents. From 14 June 2007, ships flying the flag of a Party to the OPRC-HNS Protocol must carry a pollution emergency plan to deal specifically with incidents involving hazardous and noxious substances, such as chemicals.   See More...
