Global Sea Level Observing System (GLOSS) Maintained by IOC
Text-only     Printer-friendly version
The Global Sea Level Observing System (GLOSS) is an internatinal programme conducted under the auspices of the WMO-IOC Joint Technical Committee for Oceanography and Marine Meteorology (JCOMM). GLOSS aims at the establishment of high quality global and regional sea level networks for application to climate-change studies, ocean circulation modelling, satellite radar altimeter calibration and general oceanographic and coastal sea level research. The main component of GLOSS is the Global Core Network (GCN) comprised of approximately 290 sea-level measurement stations around the world. GLOSS is an element of the Global Oceans Observing System (GOOS).
