Three million square kilometers, a third of Australia's territorial waters, are to be protected from fishing and oil exploration in a plan to create the world's largest network of marine parks. The concept of a national representative system of marine protected areas was first put forward in 1990 and will be discussed at Rio+20. (1m 19sec video clip)
