Liberia has seen the highest number of Ebola deaths so far. This has led to panic-buying of food, with food stocks becoming depleted and steep food price increases (e.g. >150 percent rise in prices of cassava and rice). The situation is made worse by the closure of markets, the main seaport through which food imports come into the country and air travel restrictions by some international airlines.
