FAO: Ebola and Food Security in West Africa
News
24 Oct 2014 - 18 Jan 2016
The current Ebola Virus Disease outbreak in West Africa is the world's largest Ebola outbreak recorded to date. The epidemic is severely affecting Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, resulting in deaths and adversely impacting the food security of affected populations. Reduced food trade, consequent rising prices and expected reductions in harvests are anticipated to further undermine the fragile state of food security.
