Newsletter November 2014
News
04 Nov 2014 - 18 Jan 2016
Dear Atlas Member
The UN General Assembly again addressed priorities for the post-2015 development agenda as well as topics such as climate change, health and security. The post-2015 agenda has been described as 'an opportune moment to define a new era in international development and cooperation.'
This month's newsletter describes many activities around the world that move the development agenda forwards: from countries such as Gambia and Angola; and from cooperation through diverse groups such as the Regional Seas with its Oceans Roadmap, the Arctic Council and the International Standards Organisation.
This month, Ms Tina Farmer, the manager and coordinator of the UN Atlas of the Oceans, will resign from her current assignment. The UN Atlas of the Oceans team wishes to express their gratitude to her commitment to the project and immensely positive attitude, without which the Atlas could not have existed.
