Hollings Marine Laboratory, Charleston, South Carolina

One of three Centers created by NOAA under the Oceans and Human Health Initiative. Named after Senator E. Fritz Hollings, Chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee this laboratory is a multi institutional, multi-disciplinary institution providing science and biotechnology applications to sustain, protect, and restore coastal ecosystems, emphasizing linkages between environmental and human health.
