The OceanPortal Project intends to offer a variety of users interested in Ocean Science and Services a range of specific and new technology based services includes. They are intended to assist users in locating web based data and information sources as well as to promote exchange of information and experience between users. OceanPortal Resource Locator: a high-level directory of Ocean Data and Information related web sites. Its objective is to provide a one-stop-shop for scientists and other ocean experts to locate such data and information by providing a single point of access to aggregated resources; OceanPortal websites: these are dynamic websites that enable full participation of members of a particular community in jointly creating a web presence as well as undertaking web-based discussions. An example is this IODE web site; OceanPortal CMS software: Member States that wish to build their own dynamic content management system for institutional, national or regional use will be able to use the OceanPortal software. To this list we should also add the OceanExpert system (GLODIR) that enables users to locate ocean experts.
