Proposed EC regulation on deep-sea fishing

The proposal contains elements for a new management system (including control of access and effort) of deep-sea species. It addresses the issues of data collection, scientific assessments, and management. It proposes to limit fishing effort at recent levels and improve available data. The proposal is complemented by a separate proposal to restrict catches by means of quota management.
