Marine Protected Areas and artisanal fisheries in Brazil

This monograph examines the legal framework for MPA design and implementation, and document and analyze the experiences and views of local communities, particularly fishing communities. It also suggests how livelihood concerns can be integrated into the MPA process by engaging local, particularly fishing, communities, as equal partners in the planning and execution stages.
