Ocean Dumping and Ship Wastes

States are required by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) to establish international rules and standards for the prevention, reduction and control of pollution of the marine environment by dumping and from vessels and to adopt these as minimum standards in their national laws.
